Erste Bank Open Final: Carlos Alcaraz sweeps Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-4 to lift Vienna crown

Unstoppable Alcaraz reigns supreme in Austrian capital

World number one Carlos Alcaraz completed a magnificent week in the Austrian capital on Sunday, 1 November, defeating Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-4 in a sparkling 84-minute final at the Erste Bank Open. The top-seeded Spaniard lifted the trophy inside Wiener Stadthalle without dropping a single set across five matches, confirming his absolute supremacy on the ATP Tour.

Alcaraz stamped his authority on the contest from the opening games. Striking the ball with thunderous depth, Alcaraz pressured Musetti’s one-handed backhand, securing an early service break in the third game with a crosscourt forehand winner. Serving with clinical efficiency, Alcaraz won 88 percent of his first-serve points and never faced a break point in the opening set.

Musetti attempted to change tactics in the second set, using heavy slice and aggressive net approaches to test the Spaniard. However, Alcaraz answered with dizzying passing shots, including a running backhand flick on break point at 3-3 that clipped the outside of the line.

Historic dominance ahead of Paris Masters

Serving for the championship at 5-4, Alcaraz closed out the match in style with consecutive unreturnable serves, dropping to his knees as 9,800 spectators rose to their feet. Across the entire tournament, Alcaraz held serve in 50 of 52 games, hit 142 winners, and conceded just 24 total games.

The Austrian triumph represents Alcaraz’s sixth singles title of 2026 and the 18th of his young career. With 500 ranking points secured, Alcaraz extends his world number one cushion over Jannik Sinner to more than 1,200 points as the tour moves to France for the season’s final Masters 1000 event in Paris Bercy.
