Baycurrent Classic: Michael Brennan wins at 16 under with a final-round 68

A 68, not a 67, on the par-71

Michael Brennan won the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club on Sunday. He closed with a 3-under 68 on the par-71 course and finished at 16 under par, 268. The winner’s check is $1.44 million. It is his third PGA Tour title. This is not an inaugural event: Xander Schauffele was the defending champion and finished tied for fourth at 13 under.

Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman tied for second at 15 under and each earned $704,000. Mitchell shot 68. Bridgeman shot 69. Brennan had started the last round tied at 13 under with Bridgeman and Zach Bauchou. He bogeyed the 10th, birdied the 11th and the 12th, and parred the last six holes.

The names behind him

Brian Harman, Schauffele, Stephan Jaeger, Ryan Gerard and Jordan Smith shared fourth at 13 under. Max Homa finished tied for 13th at 11 under, with Jordan Spieth, Kevin Roy and Adam Scott. Hideki Matsuyama finished tied for 21st at 9 under. The desk does not print a 54-hole lead for Homa, or a closing 67 for Brennan. The published board does not support either line.
