Upset Sunday rocks the NFL: Seahawks topple Chiefs, Falcons stun 49ers as Vikings stand alone

Unbeaten giants fall on road trip Sunday

The NFL landscape was completely upended on Sunday, 25 October, as the final two undefeated titans collapsed on the road. The most stunning result arrived in prime time on Sunday Night Football at Lumen Field, where the Seattle Seahawks produced a defensive clinic to blow out Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3. Seattle held the two-time defending Super Bowl champions without a touchdown for the first time in over two calendar years, harassing Mahomes into two turnovers and sacking him four times.

Earlier in the afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the San Francisco 49ers (6-1) also saw their perfect season unravel. The Atlanta Falcons engineered a 29-20 upset behind a relentless pass rush that battered Brock Purdy into four sacks and a decisive fourth-quarter interception. Atlanta controlled time of possession for more than 34 minutes, handing Kyle Shanahan’s team their first loss of 2026.

Vikings stand alone atop the NFL hierarchy

While the Chiefs and 49ers stumbled, the Minnesota Vikings found a way to survive at U.S. Bank Stadium. Minnesota gritted out a 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, using two timely red-zone stops in the fourth quarter to preserve a clean sheet. With the victory, Kevin O’Connell’s Vikings improved to 6-0, standing alone as the only undefeated franchise in the entire National Football League.

Week 7 concludes on Monday night in Philadelphia, where the Dallas Cowboys (2-4) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (2-4) in a pivotal NFC East rivalry. With division races tightening across both conferences, Sunday’s upsets proved once again that no record is safe when autumn temperatures begin to plummet.
