PGA Tour Bermuda countdown: Port Royal prepares as fall series resumes
The $6 million Butterfield Bermuda Championship tees off on 22 October. Michael Brennan's Baycurrent win remains fresh.
Port Royal readies for the Atlantic test
Following a scheduled one-week hiatus on the PGA Tour, professional golf turns its attention to Southampton, Bermuda for the 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Opening round action tees off in four days on Thursday 22 October at the coastal Port Royal Golf Course, running through Sunday 25 October.
Port Royal is renowned for its exposed ocean holes, none more dramatic than the 235-yard par-3 16th that plays directly over the turquoise waters of the Atlantic. Autumn winds frequently turn the 6,828-yard layout into a tactical test of flighted irons and patience. The event carries a $6 million total purse and awards 500 FedExCup points to the champion.
FedExCup fall stakes intensify
Defending champion Adam Schenk leads a hungry field alongside Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman, who both finished runner-up to Michael Brennan at the Baycurrent Classic in Yokohama two weeks ago. Brennan’s closing 68 and 16-under-par total of 268 secured his maiden PGA Tour title and remains the most recent benchmark on the circuit.
With only three tournaments remaining in the FedExCup Fall schedule, players hovering around the top-125 cutoff face immense pressure to secure their fully exempt status for the 2027 season.
