Premier League Matchweek 7: Manchester City host Ipswich as Everton meet Chelsea
City target seven wins from seven at the Etihad. Five fixtures open the weekend slate across England.
Five fixtures kick off Saturday
Premier League Matchweek 7 gets underway on Saturday 17 October with five fixtures scheduled across the country. The early match features Everton hosting Chelsea at 12:30 BST at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Both sides enter the weekend tied on 10 points alongside Brentford.
At 15:00 BST, three matches kick off simultaneously: league leaders Manchester City host 10th-placed Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium; Brentford welcome ninth-placed Liverpool to the Gtech Community Stadium; and Fulham meet Hull City at Craven Cottage. The late Saturday fixture sees Newcastle United host Aston Villa at 17:30 BST at St James’ Park.
The title chase at the top
Manchester City enter Saturday with a perfect record of 18 points from six matches (6-0-0) and a league-leading plus-11 goal difference. A home win over Ipswich would extend Pep Guardiola’s side to 21 points and place immediate pressure on second-placed Arsenal (15 points), who do not play until Sunday afternoon when they travel to face Nottingham Forest.
Brighton sit third on 13 points and host Crystal Palace on Sunday, while Tottenham (19th, 3 points) host Coventry City on Monday night.
