ATP Tour lists Thursday 15 October at the Rolex Shanghai Masters as finished for the top half. Alexander Zverev, the top seed, beat Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hour 17 minutes on Stadium Court. The Rolex tournament site prints the same score. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina had already gone through when Arthur Gea retired at 4-1.
The Rolex report says Zverev won 80 percent of first-serve points, 35 of 44, and hit 10 aces. The match lasted 78 minutes. He is the year-end world No. 1. Jannik Sinner remains out for the rest of the season. Zverev plays Davidovich Fokina in Saturday’s semifinal.
Friday is an order of play, not a result
The ATP schedule note for Friday 16 October puts Stadium Court on from 12:00. Doubles open the court. Rafael Jodar, seeded 12, plays Casper Ruud, seeded 20, not before 14:30. Daniil Medvedev, seeded 5, plays Tommy Paul, seeded 15, not before 18:00. The ATP results page still stops at Thursday. This desk does not invent those two scores.
Wednesday is already printed. Jodar beat Botic van de Zandschulp 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2. Ruud led Felix Auger-Aliassime 5-2 when the Canadian retired. Medvedev beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-5. Paul beat Zizou Bergs 7-6 (5), 6-4.
