Smotherman followed earlier rounds of 63, 62 and 65 with a steady 68 on Sunday to finish at 258. Doug Ghim carded a final-round 69 to finish solo second at 24-under 260, two strokes adrift in his 192nd career start. Trace Crowe (70) and Kevin Streelman (70) shared third place at 19 under (265), while Ben James took solo fifth at 18 under (266). Smotherman set tournament records for 36 holes (125), 54 holes (190) and 72 holes (258), eclipsing Matt McCarty’s previous mark of 194 through three rounds from 2024.
What it changes
The victory grants the 32-year-old a two-year PGA Tour exemption through the 2028 season, alongside entry into the PGA Championship and The Players Championship. The race for the FedExCup Fall top 60 enters its crucial stretch with Smotherman now positioned at number 51.
