Countdown to Game 1 at Chase Center
The 2026 WNBA Finals begin Saturday 17 October at Chase Center in San Francisco. Game 1 will be broadcast on NBC and streamed on Peacock with tipoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET (12:30 p.m. PT).
The Golden State Valkyries earned home-court advantage as the No. 2 seed and will host Games 1 and 2. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday 19 October at 8:00 p.m. ET. The series shifts to Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia, for Game 3 on Thursday 22 October and Game 4 (if necessary) on Sunday 25 October.
Two clean sweeps to the Finals
Both finalists reached the championship stage by completing 3-0 sweeps in their semifinal series:
- Atlanta Dream swept the defending champion New York Liberty 3-0, clinching with an 85-83 road victory at Barclays Center behind 22 points from Angel Reese. The Dream reach the Finals for the first time since 2013.
- Golden State Valkyries swept the Las Vegas Aces 3-0, sealing the series with an 87-77 overtime triumph at Michelob ULTRA Arena. The Valkyries become the first expansion team in league history to reach the Finals in their inaugural campaign.
Wednesday preparations focused on tactical schemes, with Golden State’s interior rim protection matching up against Atlanta’s transition scoring.
